Once again, it is difficult to assess whether
it is better or not to let the free market decide who gets what, however the
west seems to be better off in more ways than one. Freedom in the market. This is a liberty that has held the world in
conflict for the past century. Pure
economics. State intervention and control has proved to be stifling for
innovation. The west have more on shelf
for the average citizen that the east or south.
It seems that with the means of the invisible hand, we have the opportunity
to have greater riches for everyone as the gross domestic product increases
exponentially. There is always growth
forecast by economists of the west. The
world economy is growing due to capitalistic free markets. A billion people in China are employed due to
this global invisible hand. We have the
opportunity to purchase German mercs or Japanese camrys. We can live in an apartment, hostel or house
with backyard. We can choose who we wish
to sell our labor to. We have hoice of
education and training institutions, each fighting for your HECS payment.
The inequalities of capitalism that Marx
talks of, matter not. It doesn’t matter
that there are only a few wealthy elite that control the world markets. It could be seen as corporate governance. We need a means of organization and the free
market invisible hand has delivered the global corporation. Yes, executive staff earn big Bucks. So what? The theory of motivation dictates that
we need a competitive labor market to get more people to study at a tertiary
level. It is difficult to read
extensively and write dissertations everyday.
It is difficult to look at corporate accounts and make decision. The free market corporate culture of the west
have their success. As for the social
problems associated with the free market; it is only a small percentage that
are suffering in poverty and squalor. There
are solutions that can be formulated to alleviate the sufferings of those disadvantaged
however those that are disheveled, do not wish to help themselves as they have
resigned their will to live, with the aid of drugs and alcohol, sometimes on
the street, suicidal and a threat to the community. We need to gather and advocate for some basic
human rights.
